Ruan

The Ruan is very popular in China and has a round moon shaped body and again four strings and scalloped frets. This one has a floating mandolin type bridge with tailpiece.
It is a descendant of the Pipa used in both folk and classical music and is seen in various sizes. The ones we have are around the size of a mandola. Tunings to GDAE and ADAE can be used.
